Mokume gane means literally from japanese : wood eye metal. Looking at it we can understand very easily what's the meaning of it
Custom contemporary rings made with mokume gane are directly a step above .
It’s a marriage of tradition with contemporary jewelry.
We, by cbijou, really love this random pattern, and also the process to make it is very unsual and it’s kind of being alchemy. We know what it’s going to be, how it’s going to look, but there is always a surprise at the end to see how beautiful it became.
There you can see the procedure we use and realise how much work it takes to get at least the nugget in which we will eventually make the ring. And also take a good care to see how we make to do the ring without interrupting the pattern, no welding , only cutting and forging !
Yes it’s in french, but look only at the pictures :

You will have to define several criteria, such as:
– ring profile (square/flat, rounded)
– band width
– materials and aspects you would like to see
– time limit/deadline
– a very important point- finger size. For this, you can provide me with a ring that the person wears on the left ring finger (for an engagement ring or wedding ring).
If you would like to know more about the process of creating a ring made to order, here is an article you can read.
